FORMFTY HUB is a product development hub in Taiwan that takes hardware from idea to market: industrial design and engineering, industrial 3D printing for rapid prototypes, low-volume production without tooling, then sales channels and access to capital. Raw prototypes up to 300×300×200 mm ship in 24 hours, runs of 2 to 300 parts need no molds, and accuracy is ±0.1 mm within 100 mm. Built for hardware startups, brand launches, trade-show samples and pilot sales.

The six places hardware projects usually stall: tooling too expensive to risk, prototypes that take weeks, factories that turn down small orders, designs that cannot be built as drawn, the wrong material or process, and separate vendors for design, prototyping and production. FORMFTY HUB replaces early tooling with 3D-printed small batches, cuts waiting with 24-hour prototypes, builds DFM into the drawings, matches material and process across seven processes, and keeps one point of contact from design through small-batch production.

00 / WHERE IT HURTS

Where projects
get stuck.

Six places hardware usually stalls, and what we do about each.

  1. A mold costs a fortune, and one wrong bet sinks the project.

SMALL BATCHPrint 2 to 300 parts first. No tooling, and you can still sell or test with real customers.

  2. Prototypes take forever, and the whole schedule slips.

PROTOTYPEWhite-body models up to 300×300×200 mm ship within 24 hours.

  3. Your order is too small for most factories.

SMALL BATCH2 to 300 parts is exactly the range we take on.

  4. The design looks great, then falls apart in production.

DESIGN × DFMDesign and manufacturing sit in one team, so process, wall thickness and tolerance are part of the drawing from day one.

  5. Designer, prototype shop, factory: three vendors to chase.

ONE TEAMOne contact, carrying design, prototyping and small-batch production through.

  6. The wrong material or process, and the part fails in use or testing.

MATERIAL × PROCESSSeven processes and many materials under one roof, so material and process are matched to use, quality and cost first.

  • MECHANICAL DESIGN

MORE DESIGN covers product strategy, product definition, industrial design, CMF (color, material, finish), and mechanical and structural engineering: more than 20 years of product development, over 200 design projects across 20+ industries, and 10+ design awards including Red Dot, iF, Good Design, Taiwan Excellence and CES Innovation. Because the studio and an industrial 3D printing factory work as one group, designs quickly become physical parts for checking proportion, structure and assembly.

Product definition, industrial design, CMF, mechanical and structural engineering. Our designers work alongside an industrial 3D printing shop, so a design turns into a physical part quickly and gets checked in the hand for proportion, structure and assembly.

  • METAL LPBF

FORMFTY MANUFACTURE runs industrial 3D printing for rapid prototyping, with seven processes in one facility: SLA, DLP, LCD, SLS, MJF, metal LPBF and PolyJet, for cosmetic, functional and metal parts. The process is chosen from your use, quantity, material, quality, budget and deadline, and every file is checked for wall thickness, mesh errors and tolerances before printing. Raw prototypes up to 300×300×200 mm ship in 24 hours with ±0.1 mm accuracy within 100 mm, and an approved prototype can go straight into small-batch production.

  • LOW-VOLUME PRODUCTION
  • NO TOOLING
  • FINISHING

Low-volume production without tooling: 2 to 300 parts printed directly for trade-show samples, pilot sales and first customer deliveries, with sanding, painting and assembly. For small runs, lead time is typically 10–30% and cost 15–40% of conventional processes, depending on quantity, material and finishing. Once the market responds and volumes grow, we plan the move to Taiwan's established mass-production processes.

Frequently asked questions about our 3D printing service: starting without CAD from product definition; accepted files STL, STEP/STP, IGES/IGS and OBJ, plus sketches or photos; small batches of 2 to 300 parts without tooling; 24-hour raw prototypes up to 300×300×200 mm; ±0.1 mm accuracy within 100 mm with progressive tolerance beyond; lead time and cost compared with injection tooling; and how production scales as volumes grow.

Q&A

Questions,
answered.

Can I start without CAD files?

Yes. Tell us what the product is for, how many you need, preferred materials, quality, budget and timing. MORE DESIGN can start from product definition, and FORMFTY MANUFACTURE chooses the process.

Which file formats do you accept?

STL, STEP/STP, IGES/IGS and OBJ. No 3D file yet? A sketch or a photo is enough to start the conversation.

How many parts is a small batch?

2 to 300 parts, with no tooling.

How fast is a prototype?

Unfinished (white-body) models up to 300×300×200 mm ship within 24 hours.

How accurate is your 3D printing?

±0.1 mm within 100 mm; progressive tolerance beyond that.

How does it compare with injection tooling?

For small runs, roughly 10–30% of the lead time and 15–40% of the cost of conventional processes, depending on quantity, material and finishing.

What happens when volume grows?

Once a small batch has proven the market, we plan the move to Taiwan's established mass-production processes.
